My Ultimate Goal as the Founder
Miracle 4 Michael was founded August 8, 2017 by Ernestine Monique Whitaker the founder. Monique Whitaker is the mother of Michael Whitaker-Russell (child Miracle 4 Michael is named in honor of). This entire foundation was transpired because of Monique having to care for him. I originally started out wanting to bring more awareness to Hunter Syndrome Disease and focusing on my son, until God gave me a vision to help others in the manner i feel that is keeping Michael active. I'm a single parent o f a child with Hunter Syndrome Disease and it is not easy at all being a single parent of any special need child. My desire now is to give back to as many single parents that i can reach that have a child/children with special needs. The purpose of me starting this organization is to let other single parents know that there are so many resources within the Tampa Bay community for children with disabilities. You are not alone and there is help/agencies that are waiting to help assist you with your child. I have have spent the last ten years caring for my child alone, but I have a desire to help others along this journey in life. My ultimate goal is to inspire, preserve, protect, and enhance special need children by engaging in leisure activities contributing to their quality of life! My focus is to be the resource for single parents within the Tampa Bay area that have special needs children within the home. I want to be able to take families on a day of play within the community to attend some type of leisure activities that typically is hard for a single parent to provide to their child/children. I understand the detriments of quality bonding time with our children and i desire to offer that to families who can't financially afford to do so themselves. I also know the stress of having to be a caregiver so i want to offer once a month massage for the single parents to get once per year. I also want to provide a once a year utility assistance fund for the parents that may have scheduling issues due to caring for their child & excessive time off work. I would like to connect families to resources within the community if needed as well. I also would like to develop a donation box so that i may be able to give each family a box of tolitries, house hold items and hearing aid batteries. My heart is to give back to the families within my community because we all need each other to survive!! I have already started doing events within the community to benefit special needs children & families, but it is very costly, so this motivated me to become a non profit and help as many families as i can, one family at a time!
